JUST IN: Court grants Senator Natasha N50m bail in defamation suit

A federal high court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to the suspended lawmaker representing Kogi Central at the national assembly, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Natasha is currently facing defamation charges lodged by the Federal Government.

The court on Thursday, set bail at ₦50 million, with the condition that the lawmaker must provide one surety of reasonable integrity, who must be resident within the FCT and possess a landed property located in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

Senator Natasha had earlier arrived at the court ahead of her arraignment, maintaining a calm and confident demeanor.

The defamation charge, filed by the Director of Public Prosecutions, stems from her public allegations against prominent political figures.
