DDM News

Anambra, Nigeria – Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has continued his extensive engagement with Ndi Anambra around the world by hosting a town hall meeting with the Anambra Diaspora community in the United States and North America.
The meeting, held today, Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST), took place in Maryland, USA, and attracted Anambra indigenes from various parts of the continent.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that this latest interaction is part of Governor Soludo’s sustained commitment to inclusive governance, transparency, and direct communication with citizens beyond Nigeria’s shores.
The event marks the fourth in a series of such diaspora town hall meetings organized by the governor in 2025 alone.
Earlier meetings were held in Lagos, Abuja, and most recently in the United Kingdom and Europe.
At each of these events, the governor has taken time to present a detailed performance report, address concerns from citizens, and outline his administration’s vision for the future.
According to Christian Aburime, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the Maryland meeting is not connected to any election campaign.
He emphasized that the event is solely about accountability and giving the people a chance to assess the administration’s progress firsthand.
Governor Soludo, who assumed office in March 2022, is now in the third year of his tenure.
He has consistently maintained that public service is a sacred responsibility and not an opportunity for seasonal political grandstanding.
His administration has focused on reforms across key sectors such as education, infrastructure, public service, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and digital transformation.
The governor has also received praise for prioritizing grassroots development and introducing a digital revenue collection system aimed at boosting state income and curbing corruption.
Observers note that his approach sharply contrasts with the actions of many political leaders who only reach out to the public during campaign seasons.
Rather than flood the media with promises, Governor Soludo has chosen to let his track record of service and delivery speak for itself.
At the town hall, Soludo reportedly presented a comprehensive three-year scorecard, highlighting major accomplishments in road construction, school rehabilitation, urban renewal, and job creation.
He also outlined the road ahead, stressing his administration’s long-term vision for industrialization, youth empowerment, diaspora investment, and sustainable development.
He urged Ndi Anambra in North America to become active partners in the state’s ongoing transformation.
The governor’s engagement with the diaspora is consistent with his long-held belief that Anambra’s development must involve all stakeholders, both at home and abroad.
Political analysts say Soludo’s direct interface with the diaspora, especially at a time when the 2025 governorship election is drawing closer, reflects a deeper leadership style rooted in sincerity and performance.
Unlike many political actors who rely on propaganda and last-minute populism, Soludo has maintained a schedule of performance reviews and public accountability sessions throughout his tenure.
The Maryland town hall reinforces his belief that leadership should be people-focused and evidence-driven.
By choosing to report back to Ndi Anambra directly and regularly, Governor Soludo appears to be setting a new standard for public office in Nigeria.
Many in attendance reportedly expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as refreshing, timely, and inspiring.
As the election season approaches in Anambra State, Soludo’s administration seems determined to stay focused on developmental priorities rather than political distractions.
The Maryland town hall stands as another chapter in his steady path of action, openness, and genuine responsibility to the people.
