Lagos, Nigeria —The General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Rev. Sam Aboyeji, urged political actors to refrain from converting social gatherings into campaign platforms.

Moreover, he emphasized the necessity of preserving the integrity of these events as the 2027 elections approach.

Additionally, he warned that early politicking might distract the current administration from addressing urgent national challenges effectively.

Rev. Aboyeji conveyed this message during a press conference at the church’s national headquarters in Yaba, Lagos, unveiling the 70th anniversary activities.

Furthermore, the cleric asserted that it is too early to evaluate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing the need for focus.

“We should allow the government to work and not be distracted by early politicking,” Aboyeji said.

“The challenges Nigerians are facing require total focus and urgent solutions, not premature campaigns.”

Celebrating Seven Decades of Impact

The press briefing also highlighted the significance of the church’s platinum jubilee celebration, themed “70 Years of a Complete Gospel,” scheduled for July 21–27, 2025.

Rev. Aboyeji explained that the anniversary marks seven decades of spiritual impact and humanitarian service by the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria.

Founded in Yaba, Lagos, the church has grown to over 5,000 branches across the country.

“We are marking this milestone with impactful outreach through medical missions, soul-lifting musical events, youth-targeted programmes, and robust community service.”

The anniversary is expected to serve as a homecoming for past members and an opportunity to honor individuals who have contributed significantly to the growth of the church locally and internationally.
