A Nigerian man, Elvis Nosakhare, has been sentenced to six years in prison for sexually abusing an underage girl in the United Kingdom.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that the 41-year-old was convicted of multiple counts of both penetrative and non-penetrative sexual activity with a minor.

According to an official statement from the Thames Valley Police, Nosakhare, who resides on Sheelin Grove in Bletchley, was jailed at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

The conviction followed a thorough investigation conducted by the force’s Child Abuse Unit, culminating in a trial that led to Nosakhare’s guilty verdict.

He was found guilty of two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl, and three counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl.

In addition to the six-year sentence, Nosakhare will be registered as a sex offender for life.

The court also issued a restraining order to prevent any future contact with the victim or her family.

The case took a disturbing turn after it was revealed that Nosakhare met the victim’s mother through an online dating platform.

He later took advantage of this relationship to sexually exploit the woman’s daughter in the Thames Valley area.

Detective Constable Bryn Smith of the Child Abuse Unit commended the victim’s courage in coming forward and enduring the painful legal process.

“I want to commend the victim for her bravery throughout both the investigation and court proceedings,” Smith stated.

“I hope that Elvis Nosakhare’s conviction and sentence gives her some sense of justice,” he added.

Smith also emphasized that the Thames Valley Police is fully committed to investigating sexual offences, supporting victims, and prosecuting offenders.

He urged anyone with information or victims of sexual abuse to come forward and report such crimes to the police.

“You will be listened to and supported by experienced officers and staff,” Smith assured.

He also noted that victims can report abuse via multiple channels, including the police website, by calling 101, or visiting a police station.

Nosakhare’s sentencing sends a strong message about the consequences of sexually exploiting minors in the United Kingdom.

The UK legal system maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards child sexual abuse, with specialist units dedicated to addressing such crimes.

The case has further raised awareness about the dangers of online dating and the risks posed to children when trust is exploited by predators.
