2. The activist questioned Governor Seyi Makinde’s swift declaration within 10 hours that the incident was caused by “Illegal Miners.” Sowore sought clarity on who these miners are, the nature of their activities, and why they possessed powerful explosives.
3. Sowore raised concerns about whether security agencies were already aware of any explosives dealer in a high-profile neighborhood in Ibadan and if any prior action had been taken.
4. Seeking transparency, Sowore urged the government to reveal the identity of the alleged miner, their name, and the specific minerals they were extracting in Oyo State.
5. Sowore addressed the procedural aspect of mining and explosives, questioning whether the building was rigged with explosives and, if so, why such measures were taken.
6. He inquired whether the governor or the Oyo state government was aware of mining activities in the Agodi residential area and if any rock blasting was being carried out in a residential zone.
7. Finally, Sowore emphasized the role of the Department of State Services (DSS) in approving the use of explosives across Nigeria, urging the agency to provide a preliminary report on the matter promptly.
