Abuja-Lagos Highway to be ready in 2027 – Umahi

The Minister of Works, Engineer David Umahi, has said that the proposed Abuja-Lagos highway will be completed in four years by 2027

Engineer Umahi, who disclosed this during a press briefing on Saturday, said that travelling from Lagos to Abuja will take only four hours on the new highway.

He said the road will be built entirely with concrete rather than asphalt which is considered to be more expensive.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM TV), in collaboration with MTN, has launched a youth empowerment programme aimed at expanding digital access and promoting technology education among members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to Anambra State. As part of the initiative, MTN provided free Wi-Fi routers to corps members staying at the NYSC orientation camp in Awka, Anambra State. The programme also creates an opportunity for the young graduates to acquire valuable digital skills through DDM Tech Academy. To participate, corps members are required to enrol in one of the technology courses offered by DDM Tech Academy at a fee of ₦20,000 and pay ₦9,000 for a month's internet data subscription to activate their routers. While the routers are provided free of charge, the course enrolment supports technology training, and the data subscription provides internet access through MTN. Importantly, the initiative is not a one-off programme. DDM TV and MTN intend to sustain the empowerment drive by extending it to successive batches of corps members arriving at the Anambra NYSC orientation camp in Awka, creating recurring opportunities for more young Nigerians to access internet connectivity and technology education.
