A human rights Activist and Lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has stated that Peter Obi’s presence and membership in the ADC coalition may not grant easy pass to Aso Rock villa in 2027 to Tinubu’s camp.
According to a report On Friday, Human rights advocate and legal practitioner, Deji Adeyanju, has opined that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was caught off guard by the recent alignment of opposition figures, particularly the unexpected involvement of Peter Obi.
According to Adeyanju, the ruling party had confidently assumed they would face little to no resistance in their bid to maintain power.
Taking to social media on Friday, the lawyer alleged that some APC insiders were in disbelief over Obi’s participation in the opposition alliance and were even consulting spiritual advisors to make sense of the development.
As previously reported, the opposition bloc, on Wednesday, officially selected the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its united political vehicle for the 2027 general elections, aiming to unseat the APC.
Prominent political figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, ex-Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi are among the notable leaders spearheading the coalition effort.
Hear him speak: “They didn’t believe H.E. Peter Obi and others will join the coalition. They were so sure of easy pass to the Villa. They are calling their juju man like how did you allow this?”
