Agric development: 200 Imo farmers set to undergo training

200 Imo farmers are set to undergo training on green farming and crop production in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The training aims to equip farmers with practical skills and knowledge to enhance agricultural productivity and food security.

It is to enhance farmers’ knowledge on modern farming techniques, including irrigation farming and crop production

The Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA) recently trained over 200 farmers in Ogun, Oyo, Osun, and Lagos states on modern farming techniques, focusing on irrigation farming and crop production under irrigation systems

The European Union’s DIGISOL Project trained farmers in Imo State on digital financial solutions to enhance climate resilience and agricultural productivity

The Bauchi State Agricultural Development Programme (BSADP) trained over 200 women in fish farming, emphasizing practical techniques and sustainable practices.

The result is to improved agricultural productivity and food security in Imo State

To enhanced capacity of farmers to adapt to climate change and access digital financial solutions

To increase income and livelihood opportunities for farmers

Promotion of sustainable agricultural practices and environmental conservation

The training program for 200 Imo farmers is a significant initiative that aims to promote agricultural development and food security in the state.
