Akwa Ibom NDDC Rep pledges continued partnership with Nigerian Army

The Akwa Ibom State Representative on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) governing board, Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono, has pledged the Commission’s commitment to continue partnering with the Nigerian Army in providing security and developing infrastructure in the Niger Delta region.

Apostle Nkono made this statement when he received officers of the 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Mbiokporo, Nsit Ibom LGA, Akwa Ibom State, led by Commander/Sector 4 Joint Task Force Operation Delta Safe, Brigadier General Alexander Amos Tawasimi.

He reiterated that the NDDC board, led by Chairman Barr. Chiedu Ebie and Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, is poised to partner with stakeholders to provide services, develop and secure infrastructure in the region.

“The new NDDC board has performed creditably since its inception, to the delight of President Bola Tinubu,” Apostle Nkono said. “The Commission is ready to do more.”

He stated that the board’s desire is to ensure all abandoned projects in the Niger Delta are completed and commissioned.

Apostle Nkono added that the NDDC has provided infrastructure in all communities in the region, and with the Operation Light Up Niger Delta initiative, the rate of criminality has reduced.

He assured the Nigerian Army, 2 Brigade, Mbiokporo, that the Commission is committed to providing services and infrastructure in all regions, including Army barracks.

Earlier, Commander 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Alexander Amos Tawasimi, lauded the NDDC for its developmental strides and appealed for partnership and collaboration.

He emphasized that working together would ensure achieving the objective of his deployment.

“We must work together to achieve our aim in securing Akwa Ibom State and the Niger Delta region,” Brigadier General Tawasimi said. He solicited NDDC’s infrastructural intervention in their new barracks at Mbiokporo.

The visit was accompanied by Lt. Colonel NA Ajah, Major AA Adebisi, Major M Abdulkadri, Major NO Okoroagha, Capt. GR Yusuf, and Lt AD Adejimi.

They were received by Apostle Nkono and the NDDC management staff at the Uyo office.
