The Anambra State chapter of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, left many Corp members in total dismay following its failure to relocate them to their desired states after their passing out parade at Umuawulu in Awka, the state capital.

Some dissatisfied Corp members disclosed this to Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) on Friday.

Hundreds of NYSC members were left disappointed after their efforts to relocate themselves to their desired state failed.

Despites applying for relocation online based on insecurity and health grounds, many were still left to serve at their initial state of deployment.

“I applied for relocation due to my health status but yet I was given a Primary Place of Assignment (PPA) letter to serve at a village primary school,” said Bombae Gbemisola, a Corp member deployed to Anambra.

Likewise, Morenikeji Adigun, deployed to the same state, lamented: “I’m married, and I have a family in Lagos.”

The NYSC State Coordinator, Anambra Chapter, Mrs. Blessing Ekene Eruma attributed this failure to the fact that only few Corp members with genuine reasons would get their relocation approved.

However, affected Corp Members have called on the NYSC leadership to review its relocation process and provide a clearer communication on the status of their appeal.

In the meantime, according to information released by Mrs. Eruma, it was revealed that out of the 600 Corp members that applied for relocation, only 250 got their relocation successfully carried out.
