Ancelotti Reveals Why Real Madrid Declined Signing Osimhen
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti shed light on the club’s decision to overlook Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window.
Despite being a highly sought-after player, Osimhen was not considered a suitable replacement for Karim Benzema, according to Ancelotti.
Instead, Real Madrid opted to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund and Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain. Ancelotti explained that the club believed Bellingham was a better fit to fill the void left by Benzema’s departure.
Mbappe, one of the most prolific goal-scorers in the world, was also a priority signing for the Spanish giants.
Osimhen, who has been linked to several top clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal, is reportedly desperate to leave Napoli and join a Premier League team.
However, his hefty price tag of €150 million has deterred potential suitors. Napoli’s new manager, Antonio Conte, has also indicated that Osimhen is not part of his plans for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Osimhen has been spotted spending quality time with his daughter, Hailey, amidst the uncertainty surrounding his future.
The 25-year-old striker was seen engaging in “daddy duties” as he prepared to board a private jet with his family.
