Social media activist VeryDarkMan has expressed concern over the involvement of APC governors in the Osun State governorship election, alleging that their presence could influence the conduct and outcome of the poll.
Speaking about the election, VeryDarkMan questioned why APC governors would travel to Osun State as election observers, suggesting that their involvement could go beyond simply monitoring the process.
“If anything happens to the president today, a lot of APC members will suffer because tell me why you have APC governors going to observe Osun election if not to go and bully, oppress and manipulate the election results,” he said.
VeryDarkMan further argued that the events surrounding the election had already raised concerns about what could happen to Governor Ademola Adeleke and his political camp.
He said the potential outcome of the election appeared clear to him, particularly in light of what he described as alleged irregularities that had taken place before the poll.
“It’s very clear and obvious what might be the outcome of the Adelekes considering the illegality that have happened before now,” VDM stated.
His comments have added to the political tension surrounding the Osun election, with supporters of different political parties closely watching the process and exchanging accusations online.
The activist’s remarks have also sparked debate over the role of political figures during elections and whether governors from the same political party as a candidate can participate in election observation without creating concerns about neutrality.
However, VeryDarkMan’s claims about alleged plans to manipulate the election have not been independently established.
The Osun election has continued to attract significant attention as voters, political parties and observers await the outcome and the conduct of the electoral process.
