Today , our quest for football development in our Nation received knock on its head as many fans of Anambra state based team are currently in hospitals while the team and fans are still trapped in Owerri due to attack from Owerri fans .

It is also of note that club buses are not spared in what seems to be an organized attack by fans of  relegation threaten Heartland FC of Owerri.

You may recall that Heartland FC during their away match at Nnewi that ended 1-0 advantage to Anambra Warriors ,saw their goalkeeper Ebele Obi beat up .

Meanwhile , another eye witness reported today’s attack this way :

“Live from Owerri

We are trapped in Owerri, destruction of Fc Ifeanyi Ubah team buses by the home fans, our supporters are been beaten black and blue as everybody scamper for safety. At the moment myself and some fans of our club are conveyed out of the stadium by the Military.

Is this the way forward for Nigerian football? I couldn’t get pics for the fear of my life. More details later”

One therefore , call on all the  security institutions and personalities to further their protection cover for the situation not go beyond what it is now .
