ONLINE, GLOBAL — Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), in partnership with the Digital Assets Management Academy (DAMA), has announced a weekly educational webinar aimed at addressing the growing threat of cryptocurrency fraud, particularly “rug pull” schemes that continue to affect investors in the digital asset space.
The virtual program, titled Blockchain World 2.0, is designed as an ongoing learning initiative focused on blockchain education, digital finance awareness, and risk prevention in the rapidly evolving world of cryptocurrency and Web3 technologies.
The upcoming session is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2026, between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM Nigerian time, and will centre on the topic: “Why Rug Pulls Are Increasing and How to Avoid Them.” The discussion is expected to break down how such scams are executed, why they are becoming more common, and how investors can protect themselves from financial losses.
Rug pull schemes typically involve developers of digital token projects building trust and attracting investment before suddenly withdrawing liquidity or abandoning the project entirely. This leaves investors with devalued or worthless assets. Experts say the rise of such cases has made blockchain education increasingly important, especially for new entrants into the crypto market.
According to DDM and DAMA, the weekly program is part of a broader effort to improve financial literacy and promote safer participation in digital economies. They noted that many young investors are often exposed to high-risk digital assets without sufficient understanding of how fraudulent schemes operate.
The organisers emphasised that Blockchain World 2.0 is open to beginners, enthusiasts, and professionals, and is structured to provide consistent weekly insights into blockchain systems, investment safety, and emerging trends in decentralised finance.
To expand accessibility, the session will be streamed live on YouTube via the Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) channel, allowing participants from different regions to join the discussion remotely. Viewers are encouraged to subscribe to the channel to receive updates on future sessions and related educational content.

Background analysis shows that the rapid growth of cryptocurrency adoption has been accompanied by an equally fast rise in online scams, with rug pulls becoming one of the most common forms of digital fraud. Analysts warn that while blockchain technology offers transparency, the lack of regulation in certain areas still leaves investors vulnerable to manipulation.
Security and financial experts have repeatedly called for stronger public awareness campaigns and structured education programs to reduce exposure to such risks. They argue that informed users are less likely to fall victim to deceptive investment schemes.
Organisers reiterated that the webinar will run every Wednesday at the same time, forming a consistent knowledge-sharing platform aimed at strengthening understanding of blockchain technology and improving digital safety practices.
As global interest in cryptocurrency continues to expand, stakeholders believe initiatives like Blockchain World 2.0 could play a significant role in shaping more responsible and informed participation in the digital asset ecosystem.
