Bobi Wine condemns murder of Journalist Natumanya’s father
Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine has expressed deep sorrow over the cold-blooded murder of Mzee Godfrey Tabandama, father of renowned journalist and activist Natumanya Andrew, popularly known as Tabz.
In a heartfelt statement on his official Facebook page, Bobi Wine revealed that Mzee Tabandama was attacked and killed at his home in Kabwohe, Sheema District, while having supper.
The slow response from the nearby police station has raised concerns.
This devastating loss comes barely two years after Tabz lost his mother in December 2022.
Bobi Wine described Mzee Tabandama as a good friend who warmly hosted him and his team during visits to Bushenyi and neighboring districts.
Natumanya Andrew, known for his exceptional journalism and photography skills, is an outspoken advocate against bad governance and misrule.
*A Painful Loss for a Courageous Family
Bobi Wine’s statement highlighted the close relationship between Mzee Tabandama and the opposition leader, praising his hospitality and kindness.
“Tabz is not only a talented journalist and photographer but also a passionate activist who fearlessly speaks truth to power.
The National Unity Platform leader called for swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice, expressing solidarity with Tabz and his family during this difficult time.
*A Call for Justice
As investigations continue, Wine, who survived alleged assassination attempt recently, demanded answers regarding the slow police response to the murder and urged authorities to ensure that those responsible face the full force of the law.
