Mr Waheed Ayilara, the Commissioner of Police in Awka-Ibom State is dead.
He reportedly died in the wee hours of Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.
According to family sources, Waheed underwent a prostate cancer surgery on Wednesday before he kicked the bucket hours later.
”We are very sad to inform you that our friend, brother and family, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara is dead,” a family source said.
