‘My enemies are using my marital crisis with Regina to blackmail me’ — Ned Nwoko cries out

Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has claimed that a coordinated group is using his marital issues with Nollywood actress Regina Daniels to tarnish his reputation.

In a statement released by his Communication and Technical Action Team on Monday, Nwoko described the alleged campaign as a “syndicate of pull-down-Ned,” aimed at criminalizing him before the international community.

He dismissed claims of land grabbing in his hometown, explaining that he was legitimately allocated land for the University of Sports, a project he said has positively impacted the community. “Anyone who seeks progress in our society is often attacked and torn down by their own people. That is the sad difference between us and other ethnic groups,” he added.

Nwoko alleged that some individuals were exploiting Regina Daniels, whom he described as unwell and having admitted past drug use, to settle old scores. He warned that those behind the smear campaign would face justice.

“If by now she has not brought up any credible allegation against me, it means there is nothing illegal about me, except that I want her to seek help for rehabilitation  a condition that existed long before our marriage,” Nwoko said.

He highlighted that Regina’s history of substance use could be verified through medical records and public testimonies, adding that former schoolmates had confirmed she and her sister dropped out of school due to drug-related issues.

“The whole world has read her own accounts of substance use, yet some people keep pushing this false narrative to damage my reputation. She openly admitted to using drugs and said she was on bipolar medication. Her medical records are verifiable, but the enemies of progress are manipulating her to achieve their aims,” he said.

On questions about the timeline of their marriage, Nwoko clarified, “Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000. If she has been married for six years, she got married at 19 years old, not 17. Our customs and traditions do not frown upon polygamy. I married her honourably, gave her a name, and treated her with dignity.”

He emphasized that their marriage has always been public and transparent. Nwoko accused his political and personal opponents of exploiting Regina as a weak point, turning their union into a tool for political blackmail.

He described the ongoing attacks as a witch-hunt aimed at undermining his developmental efforts as a Senator.

Ned Nwoko Speaks on Marital Crisis, Accuses Regina Daniels’ Family of Drug Abuse

Senator Ned Nwoko has finally addressed the growing rift between him and his actress wife, Regina Daniels, following the arrest of her brother, Samuel Daniels, popularly known as Sammy West.

In a lengthy statement released on Sunday, the lawmaker accused Regina’s family and friends of worsening her alleged battle with drug addiction.

According to Nwoko, Regina’s siblings and close friends have been sabotaging her recovery process despite repeated medical warnings.

“These are the same people her doctors told her to avoid. They sneak into the house with the same drugs she’s being treated for,” he said.

Nwoko alleged that Regina’s brothers, Sammy and Lawrence, first introduced her to drugs, claiming that both were users themselves.

He said Sammy frequently caused chaos at his Abuja residence by harassing staff and even his children. “He would storm the house shouting, insulting everyone, especially when I wasn’t around,” Nwoko said.

The senator revealed that he had once been generous to the Daniels family, sponsoring Sammy’s university education and supporting them financially.

“I sponsored him through his final two years at the University of Ekpoma,” Nwoko said. “I also rented and furnished his apartment in Abuja and routinely provided allowances to all family members. In the last two years alone, I transferred ₦125 million to them.”

He said Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, also received financial support from him. “Before our marriage, I bought Regina a house in Asaba. I’ve done my best for that family,” he added.

The senator accused Regina’s siblings and friends, including Destiny and Sonia Uche Montana, of defying doctors’ orders and enabling her addiction.

“They forced their way into the house at odd hours, bringing in the same substances. Instead of helping her heal, they worsened her condition,” Nwoko claimed.

Nwoko recounted a tense confrontation with Sammy after he asked Sammy’s girlfriend to leave his home. “At 4 a.m., I found Regina high and on the phone. She told me Sammy’s girlfriend was in her room. When I asked my driver to drop her off, Sammy came in raging, waking everyone. I had to order security to escort him out,” he said.

He also alleged that the viral video showing a family altercation at his residence was a “staged Nollywood scene” recorded in his absence. “Nobody was beaten. Everything happened in front of my house. It was all acting,” he insisted.

Nwoko said he had even given $75,000 to Lawrence, Regina’s brother, to pursue a master’s degree in London. However, he claimed Sammy rejected similar opportunities and instead chose to live recklessly.

“Sammy has been arrested several times by the police and EFCC. What he needs is total rehabilitation,” Nwoko said.

The statement comes amid social media uproar over Regina’s family accusing the senator of sending thugs to assault her an allegation he strongly denies.

While neither Regina Daniels nor her family has officially responded to the new claims, fans have flooded social media with mixed reactions, with some calling for privacy and others demanding evidence.

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has emotionally broken down in a new video, admitting she feels drained and might return to her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.

The actress made the shocking confession on Friday, November 7, 2025, amid growing tension in her troubled marriage to the Delta North senator.

Regina revealed that her brother, Samuel “Sammy West” Daniels, was allegedly arrested and detained for several days on her husband’s orders. The revelation added fresh drama to their already stormy relationship.

In an emotional post on her verified social media page, the 25-year-old actress said her estranged parents had reunited only to support her and push for her brother’s release.

“Two sworn enemies reuniting with no ulterior motive other than their daughter’s happiness,” she wrote.

Regina, known for her breakthrough role in Miracle Child, expressed deep frustration over her brother’s prolonged detention. She vowed to personally intervene, even if it meant confronting her husband directly.

“Sammy’s detainment is taking way too long,” she cried. “We will get him out, even if I have to march there myself. Since they want me!”

In another viral clip, fellow actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie was seen searching for Sammy. “He’s not here,” Mercy said in visible distress before walking away.

Fighting back tears, Regina appeared confused and heartbroken. She hinted that she might return to her husband, saying, “Every time I wake up, I say one thing — oh, my brother, today I’ll hear good news. Then tomorrow, another story. I’ve tried. I have to go. I will go back.”

Weeks earlier, a viral video showed Regina weeping and alleging domestic violence in her marriage. In that clip, she claimed, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing. But in my house, I am a queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence. It’s too much.”

Senator Ned Nwoko, however, denied the allegations. He accused Regina of suffering from “drug and alcohol abuse” and claimed she needed professional help, not sympathy.

In another post, Regina begged Nigerians to stop attacking her mother, Rita Daniels, calling her “my pillar and protector.”

She also vowed to raise her two sons, Munir and Khalifa, with or without her husband’s support. “I’ll take them, train them, and raise them with or without your help,” she said.

The actress further hinted that her family never approved of her marriage to the 64-year-old lawmaker, which continues to divide public opinion.

Meanwhile, veteran musician Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, weighed in on the controversy.

In a viral video, the 75-year-old activist criticized the couple for exposing their private battles online.

“Marriage isn’t a movie,” he said. “I’ve been married for 45 years. Why wash your dirty linen on social media? Ned should know better  you married a young woman, fine. But wisdom isn’t sold in boutiques.”

He urged the couple to handle their crisis privately, adding that maturity and silence often solve what drama destroys.

As of press time, Senator Nwoko has not publicly responded to Regina’s latest emotional video or Charly Boy’s remarks.
