The suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria [CJN], Justice Walter Onnoghen has arrived the Code of Conduct Tribunal [CCT] to face trial in the ongoing false assets declaration proffered against him.

Justice Onnoghen arrived Tribunal in a convoy of about five vehicles on Friday.

ElombahNews had, on February 13, reported that the CCT Chairman, Justice Danladi Umar issued a warrant of arrest against the suspended CJN.

The warrant followed a prayer by the federal government’s prosecution team requesting for a warrant following his failure to appear before the Tribunal.

Justice Umar ordered his arrest following his consistent absence from court to answer to the charges.

The order of arrest was however not effect as he was said to have reached an agreement with the security agencies to voluntarily submit himself for the Friday’s proceedings.

Details of the trial will be brought later as the tribunal is about to begin sitting.
