Registered trustees of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star have cleared the air on the 24 years long crisis of the Kingdom, noting that BCS is a religion of peace, but not a militant organization or a family business as some people have portrayed it.

The new Trustees of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star made this known to the public while briefing some Journalists in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Capital.

Addressing newsmen at the Nsikak Eduok, Cathedral Uyo, the Chairman Board of Trustees, Deaconess. V. B. Clarke pointed out that BCS is “a religion of peace as exemplified by our official greeting “Peace” and our Motto which is “Love, Faith and Hope.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is the Kingdom mentioned in Our Lord’s prayer, “Thy Kingdom come” This is the Kingdom of which Nebuchadnezzar dreamt, Daniel Prophesised (Daniel 2:44), Our Lord Jesus Christ referred to and the Apostles of old longed to see. This kingdom comprises the totality of the creations of God, Man, Animals, Fishes, Plants, the Sun, Moon, Stars, etc.”

Speaking on behalf of members, she stated; “We are taught to love one another irrespective of colour, creed or political affiliations. Our official uniform is the white soutane, our holy garment (Rev 7:13-14). We do not wear purple, blue, green or multi coloured soutanes. We do not have covenant boxes, white handkerchiefs, or blow giant horns. We do not have such positions as Eminences, Patriarchs, Ambassadors, Vanguards, Blessed mothers etc. We walk bare foot in reverence to God (Exodus 3:4-5). We revere and pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, through whom we obtain forgiveness of our sins.”

On the leadership structure of the religious Organization; Deaconess. Clarke noted – “Let it be known by all and sundry that there is only one Head of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star and that is Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, the Sole Spiritual Head, the long-awaited Promised Comforter. He has no assistant and no deputy. We believe that God is one. The Holy Trinity, God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are all incorporated in one Being. The Trinity is indivisible (Matt 28:19). All power and glory belong to the Father alone. He does not share His power and glory with anyone. He is a jealous God. Therefore, it should be made abundantly clear, that whereas we respect and honour His Holiness Roland Olumba Obu as the second child of the Leader, he is not God and we can never recognize him as such.

She further stated; “What we expected of His Holiness Roland Obu (whom his followers acclaim to be God), was to behave as a man of God, embracing all members with love, seek a peaceful resolution to the crisis. But the reverse was the case and his members embarked on a string of bethel invasions, court cases and police reports all over the country and nations of the world as directed by him. No responsible religious organization conducts itself in such a shameful and disgraceful manner. The violence perpetrated by our adversaries in the last twenty-four years has been a disgrace to Brotherhood of the Cross and Star and has soiled the reputation of this great kingdom. These actions are alien to Brotherhood and contrary to the recondite teachings of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu”.

Speaking on the age- long crisis of the church, Deaconess Clarke said; “we come to give you the good news that the battle that has rocked Brotherhood of the Cross and Star for the last twenty four years is finally over with the registration of a new Board of Trustees for the kingdom. These trustees are specially chosen men and women of proven integrity. They are now at the helm of affairs of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. They are the only body recognized by law, to administer the affairs of the kingdom and to represent it in all matters worldwide. This heralds a new dawn for Brotherhood where the beauty of the kingdom will be displayed to the world.”

She, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, appealed to all warring factions to sheath their swords and give Peace a chance.

“Even though we have major doctrinal differences, we must all learn to respect each other, adhearing to the principle of freedom of Religion and worship as enshrined in our national constitution.

“We therefore extend a hand of peace to our brethren in the various camps. Rest assured that we will allow you to worship freely in your own bethels without any intimidation from us, as long as you remain peaceful.

“We are the true children of God so will never resort to violence and thuggery and invade your bethels as our adversaries have done over the years. We will treat all members equally with love and respect.

“As the only official authority of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star we will not allow this senseless fighting to continue.

“We pledge to uphold the true doctrines and teachings of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu and to carry out our duties impartially with the fear of God in the interest of all the teeming members of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star worldwide.

“This is the time for us to display to the world the true image of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, the new kingdom of God on earth, where Righteousness dwells. We are angels of peace.

“Our arms are outstretched to welcome individuals who desire to worship the true God in the way we have been taught by our Father”.

She therefore called on all members of Brotherhood worldwide to “say NO to fighting, NO to violence, NO to Police reports and No to court cases, and to say YES to Peace, YES to Righteousness and YES to Love”.

The Press briefing was attended by members of the Board of Trustees of the Kingdom.
