Chelsea make formal bid for Garnacho as January transfer window heats up
DDM News

Chelsea have made an official move to secure an “exciting signing” before the January transfer deadline.
Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that the club is targeting Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
This follows Chelsea’s recent recall of Trevoh Chalobah from his loan at Crystal Palace, signaling that their search for a centre-back might be over for this window.
Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s manager, has kept his cards close to his chest regarding any further signings.
While he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of new arrivals before the transfer window closes on February 3, he remains calm about the situation, stating, “The club, the sporting directors, we pay attention if something can happen.”
Maresca acknowledged that Chelsea had made no new signings so far but pointed to the return of Chalobah as a key development.
“We called back Trev [Chalobah], and we will see in the next 10 days if something is going to happen,” he said.
As Chelsea navigates this transfer window, there is a growing list of players attracting attention.
Lazio is reportedly in talks to sign Cesare Casadei, which has led to rumors linking Chelsea with Hellas Verona’s Reda Belahyane.
Furthermore, Renato Veiga is reportedly set to join Juventus on loan for the remainder of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano.
There is also interest in players like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka, Christopher Nkunku, and Ben Chilwell, all of whom could potentially leave the club.
Maresca’s side has also been dealing with Mykhailo Mudryk’s potential lengthy ban following a failed drug test, which has prompted Chelsea to explore fresh forward options.
One of their main targets is Garnacho, with reports indicating that Chelsea have now made a formal bid for the young Argentine.
South American journalist Uriel Ligt has confirmed Chelsea’s official offer for Garnacho, and the negotiations are intensifying.
This follows earlier reports suggesting Chelsea were preparing to hold talks with Manchester United about signing the winger.
Chelsea’s bid, however, remains shrouded in mystery, with sources speculating that United would want around £65 million for the player.
Garnacho has had a standout season so far, contributing eight goals and five assists in all competitions for Ruben Amorim’s side.
With United’s financial struggles potentially forcing them to sell this month, Chelsea could secure a key addition to their squared.
