Chelsea set to finalize two transfer deals in the next 48 hours

Chelsea is preparing to complete two key transfers in the next 48 hours, with Cesare Casadei and Renato Veiga both set to leave the club.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that Casadei will join Lazio for a fee of €12 million, with a 25% sell-on clause included in the deal.

The 22-year-old midfielder had been in discussions with both Lazio and Torino but opted for Lazio, who are currently sitting in fourth place in Serie A and leading their Europa League group.

Casadei’s agent shared an image on social media of his arrival in Rome, confirming the move.

After making just 17 appearances for Chelsea’s first team over two and a half years and spending time on loan at Reading and Leicester, Casadei struggled to secure a permanent spot in Chelsea’s senior squad.

He has not featured in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca this season.

Meanwhile, Renato Veiga will head to Juventus on a loan deal.

The agreement will see the defender spend the remainder of the season in Turin, with no option for Juventus to buy him outright.

The loan deal is valued at around €4.5 million, as Juventus seeks to bolster their defense following the season-ending ACL injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal.

Veiga, who joined Chelsea for €14 million from FC Basel last summer, has only played 183 minutes of Premier League football this season.

The loan move to Juventus will give him the opportunity to gain more first-team experience.

Chelsea’s transfer activity may not be over just yet, with reports linking them to Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho in the final week of the transfer window.

The Blues, who suffered a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, are looking to strengthen their squad.

Chelsea initially took the lead in that match through Noni Madueke but were ultimately undone by City’s dominance.

As Chelsea seeks to finalize the departures of Casadei and Veiga, the club may make further moves to enhance their squad before the transfer window closes.

With the latest departures and potential acquisitions, Chelsea is looking to reshape its roster for the remainder of the season.
