American singer Chris Brown is pushing back against his ex-partner Diamond Brown’s request for sole custody of their daughter, Lovely Symphani Brown, as a legal dispute unfolds in Los Angeles.
According to court documents, Diamond filed for full legal and physical custody of their four-year-old daughter in May, proposing that Brown be granted visitation rights only. However, the singer has opposed the request, instead seeking joint legal and physical custody.
Brown is also requesting that both parties handle their own legal expenses, while Diamond has asked the court to require him to cover the associated costs.
The custody battle comes amid recent tensions between the former couple, which have also played out on social media. Diamond previously accused the singer of interfering in her personal life, while Brown’s current partner, Jada Wallace, alleged that Diamond had restricted his access to their child.
Chris Brown is a father to three children. In addition to Lovely Symphani, he shares daughter Royalty Brown with Nia Guzman and son Aeko Catori Brown with Ammika Harris.
As the case continues, the court is expected to determine custody arrangements based on the child’s best interests.
