The Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM) is a dynamic and inclusive Political Action Group (PAG) established by Nigerian citizens who recognize the urgent need to enhance partisan politics and promote good governance in Nigeria.

In an interaction with the National structure, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that COPDEM represents a collective effort of individuals and groups, both within Nigeria and across the diaspora, united by their commitment to fostering a prosperous and democratic Nigeria.

What COPDEM Stands For

1. Good Governance:

Advocates for transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership at all levels of government.

Ensures that policies reflect the true will of the people and prioritize the nation’s best interests.

2. A Political Action Group (PAG):

Pools resources and contributions from members to support or oppose candidates, ballot initiatives, and legislation aligned with its pro-democratic values.

Operates independently and remains unaffiliated with any political party, focusing on protecting democracy without the constraints of partisan politics.

3. Unity and Democratic Empowerment:

Committed to the unity of Nigeria, emphasizing economic and social empowerment as prerequisites for sustainable democracy and prosperity.

4. A Pro-Democratic and Apolitical Movement:

Transcends party lines, tribal affiliations, regional divides, and religious differences.

Protects democracy from corruption and destabilization, promoting fairness, justice, and equality nationwide.

National Structure

COPDEM’s organizational framework connects members from the national level to the states, local governments, and ward levels, ensuring that every patriotic Nigerian can actively participate in promoting and protecting democracy.
