Cubana shuns Innoson, Nigeria’s local auto in new taxi hailing service

In the wake of the much-anticipated launch of Enviable Transport, a taxi hailing service spearheaded by Obi Cubana in Abuja, there has been a notable silence surrounding the extent of local content present in the vehicles designated for the service.

Reports indicate that over 100 hybrid electric vehicles were brought in for the service; however, there is a lack of clarity on whether these vehicles were sourced from local auto manufacturers such as Innoson or NORD, among others based in Nigeria.

Local auto manufacturers have been making strides in developing technologies to meet the growing demand for vehicles powered by alternate renewable energy sources.

Innoson, for instance, has been recognized for its efforts in providing local versions of CNG and electric-powered vehicles. Despite this, Cubana emphasized his commitment to continuous innovation and leadership in the Nigerian e-hailing space during the launch of his hailing project.

Enviable Transport’s recent acquisition of over one hundred units of hybrid electric vehicles underscores the company’s dedication to offering accessible, affordable, and safe cab and logistic services to residents of Abuja.

The company’s partnership with CIG MOTORS, owners of GAC MOTORS & WULING EV, further solidifies its position in the market for quality electric vehicle assets.

Managing Director/CEO of Enviable Transport, Chukwuemeka Ituma, expressed the company’s vision to revolutionize transportation in Nigeria through the introduction of electric vehicles.

The launch of a new mobile app also signifies a commitment to providing customers with a convenient, secure, and personalized transportation experience.

As Enviable Transport strives to lead the way in the transportation industry and cater to the evolving needs of customers, the incorporation of local content from Nigerian auto manufacturers could further enhance the company’s impact on the local economy and promote sustainable practices within the urban transportation ecosystem.
