(DDM) – Delta State Police have successfully apprehended four suspects in connection with the theft of 11 ladders across various locations in the state.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the arrests followed several complaints lodged by residents regarding missing ladders in the community.

The operation was carried out by officers from Ekpan Police Station, acting on intelligence gathered during ongoing patrols.

Police spokesperson CSP Moses Yamu stated that the initial arrest was made after investigations led to Esquire Stanley.

During interrogation, Stanley reportedly confessed to stealing the ladders and reselling them at N20,000 each, despite their actual market value being approximately N250,000.

Further inquiries and coordinated police action led to the arrest of three additional suspects: Orgi Abara, Philip Augustine, and Obone Jevweu.

Authorities allege that these individuals were involved in receiving and reselling the stolen property, forming part of a wider criminal operation.

The police successfully recovered all 11 stolen ladders, which were later returned to their rightful owners.

CSP Yamu emphasized that intelligence-driven operations remain central to combating crime and protecting property in the state.

Officials explained that the suspects would face prosecution upon the conclusion of investigations, with charges expected to include theft, possession of stolen property, and participation in a criminal enterprise.

Community members have welcomed the arrests, noting that such thefts disrupt livelihoods and create insecurity in the state.

Recovering the stolen property represents not only a victory for law enforcement but also a reassurance for citizens concerned about property safety.

CSP Yamu urged residents to continue providing timely information to security agencies and warned that similar criminal activities would be met with swift legal action.

Authorities also called on communities to maintain vigilance and collaborate with the police to prevent future incidents.
