Di Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, don call on stakeholders say make dem join hand take tackle di wahala of out-of-school children dem.
Uba Sani talk say all di out-of-school pikin dem, including di disabled, na threat to di inclusive development of di society, e come emphasize say no pikin suppose dey left out.
E talk dis on Monday for di Reaching Out-of-School Children (ROOSC) Start-Up Workshop.
Sani assure say im administration dey work to solve di wahala for Kaduna State.
“We don set out to tackle di main challenges wey dey for education sector for Kaduna State.”
“To improve beta access, build and fix education infrastructure, to make learning environment make e dey beta, to build teachers’ capacity, use ICT to improve access, quality and management of education, put girl-child education for front, and make security strong for di state,” na so im talk.
Him come still talk say, him administration don start to dey build beta things for school to fit dey solve di wahala of pikin dem wey no dey school.
E don approve make dem build extra 50 secondary schools for di state bicos dem sabi say quality education dey important.
“Di process to buy wetin dem go use for dis big project don reach advanced stage.”
“Wen dem finish, di new schools suppose fit take over 100,000 students.”
“E go make Kaduna State show say dem dey serious to provide di kind education wey everybody fit access,” e add.
“Di government don build 2,326 new classrooms, renovate 707 classrooms, supply 30,742 two-seater pupil furniture, provide 3,704 teacher furniture, and build 918 VIP Cubicle Toilets and 51 hand pump boreholes for schools all over di state,” him talk again.
Governor Sani explain say di policies wey him government get for education sector don dey bear fruit, as him show for di last national examination.
“Kaduna State students’ performance don improve well-well for di latest NECO SSCE results, with 67% of students wey get 5 credits and above (including Mathematics and English), compared to 54% for 2022.
“Our administration don dey make steady progress for improving access to education, infrastructure and quality of teaching. But di number of pikin dem wey still no dey go school still plenty.
“We don dey determined to tackle di problem well-well and find way to take beta di future for our poor, vulnerable and underserved pikin dem,” him add.
Earlier for him welcome address, di State Coordinator of di Reaching Out of School Children Project (ROOSC), Mr Ezra Angai, talk say di Project dey designed to reduce di number of children wey no dey school.
Dem dey build beta education system wey no go leave any pikin behind.
Angai talk say di “main goal of di project na to bring back 200,000 children wey no dey school make dem for go school, train 8,780 SBMC members, train 4,390 teachers and 112 education officers for data management.”
“Build di capacity of 511 officers for planning, budgeting, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) and reach total of 1.2 million beneficiaries of Teaching and Learning materials for di whole state.”
