EFCC exposes Chinmark, 62 other fraudulent ponzi companies

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, March 11, uncovered Chinmark Homes and Shelters Limited and other “fraudulent companies” operating as illegal investment schemes, defrauding Nigerians of their hard-earned money.
Chinmark Homes and Shelters Limited is owned by Marksman Chinedu Ijiomah, a prominent Nigerian businessman.
The EFCC stated that its latest action aligns with its commitment to sanitize Nigeria’s financial space and provide citizens with reliable investment information.
The anti-graft agency warned Nigerians about the operations of the companies posing as legitimate investment entities but defrauding unsuspecting individuals.
According to the EFCC, these companies are neither registered with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) nor the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The EFCC disclosed that it has charged many of these companies to court, with five already convicted, five pleading guilty and awaiting review of facts, and the rest pending arraignment.
