As Muslims across Nigeria prepare for Eid-el-Kabir, Hon. Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye has sent out a goodwill message.
Aleshinloye is a former chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo State, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathers.
He urged Muslims to reflect on the values of sacrifice, compassion, and generosity that the festival represents.
The message was delivered through his media aide, Oladipo Adegoke, on Thursday in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Aleshinloye called on Muslims to show love to the less privileged during this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
He emphasized that reaching out to the needy promotes unity and strengthens the spirit of togetherness among Nigerians.
He said, “As we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, may the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and gratitude guide us all.”
He praised the Muslim community for its resilience, dedication, and commitment to faith in challenging times.
According to him, charity should extend to people of all faiths, not only fellow Muslims.
He stated that interfaith kindness helps to build lasting peace and national harmony across religious divides.
Aleshinloye said Muslims should use this period to spread empathy, tolerance, and mutual respect in their communities.
He also urged Nigerians to embrace values that foster national unity, friendship, and peaceful coexistence.
The deputy national chairman of NALGON encouraged believers to practice the virtues preached by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He said Islam promotes peace, humility, kindness, and a sense of duty to one another.
He called for sincere prayers for Nigerian leaders and the nation’s socio-economic advancement.
Aleshinloye encouraged citizens to remain hopeful and prayerful for the country’s progress and collective well-being.
He asked Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration for accelerated national development.
He believes such support will help achieve stability, security, and prosperity for all Nigerians.
He said patience and collaboration are vital in moving Nigeria forward in the face of current challenges.
He noted that unity should be the nation’s top priority, regardless of ethnic or religious background.
He advised everyone to use the Eid celebration to rededicate themselves to peaceful and patriotic living.
He also stressed the need to think beyond personal interests and focus on Nigeria’s collective good.
According to him, lasting peace is possible when citizens commit to tolerance and shared national values.
He said Eid-el-Kabir is a time to renew our devotion to selflessness and service to others.
The festival, he noted, commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience and willingness to make a great sacrifice.
He concluded by praying for Allah’s blessings, protection, and mercy on all Nigerians during the celebration.
