Salah of Liverpool

In a thrilling match at Anfield, Mohamed Salah scored his 51st Champions League goal, leading Liverpool to a 2-0 victory over French side, Losc Lille, on Tuesday night.

This achievement cements Salah’s position among the top 10 all-time scorers in the Champions League, solidifying his status as one of the greatest players in the competition’s history.

The goal puts the Egypt captain level with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry on 9th position on the goal scoring log.

Salah would be hoping to climb the log further by outscoring Thomas Muller, Andriy Shevchenko, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Raul Gonzalez, who are on 55, 59, 60 and 71 goals, respectively.

Karim Benzema (90), Roberto Lewandowski (102), Lionel Messi (129), and Cristiano Ronaldo (141) complete the top four on the chart.

Salah’s impressive performance this season has been a driving force behind Liverpool’s success.

With 31 appearances, 22 goals, and 17 assists, he continues to dazzle fans and opponents alike with his exceptional skill and dedication.

“Mo Salah is a phenomenal player, and his achievements on the pitch are a testament to his hard work and talent,” said Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot.

“We’re thrilled to have him as part of our team and look forward to seeing what the rest of the season holds.”

Contract debacle

For Salah to go higher up the goal scoring chart, it is imperative for Liverpool to extend his contract beyond the current season.

His contract situation with Liverpool is still up in the air. He’s currently in the last six months of his contract, and there’s been no progress in negotiations for a new deal.

In fact, Salah himself said that “nothing really moved on” regarding a contract extension, and he’s focused on helping Liverpool win the Premier League.

There have been rumors of interest from other clubs, including Al Hilal, who are reportedly looking to replace Neymar.

However, he has expressed his desire to stay in Europe and continue playing at the highest level.

Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has weighed in on the situation, saying he hopes Salah stays at Liverpool, calling him “the biggest striker LFC had in modern times”.

Current manager Arne Slot has also praised Salah, saying he could be considered the best player in the world based on his numbers.

For now, it seems like Salah’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain.
