ENUGU, NIGERIA — The Adada People’s Assembly has reaffirmed its endorsement of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Ocho Obodoeze Chukwuma, ahead of the 2027 Enugu State governorship election.
The group described the decision as a renewed expression of confidence in Chukwuma and his proposed Refined Governance Agenda, which it said is focused on more inclusive governance, development and improved opportunities for residents of the state.
Assembly Restates Its Position
The Adada People’s Assembly, which describes itself as a strong voice within the Adada and Nsukka zone, said its support for the ADC candidate remains firm.
According to the group, its position is based on what it considers the need for leadership that places the welfare, aspirations and development of Enugu residents at the centre of governance.
The Assembly said it believes the state requires purposeful and transparent leadership capable of addressing challenges affecting communities across Enugu.
Refined Governance Agenda
The group said Chukwuma’s Refined Governance Agenda provides what it described as a framework for addressing key development needs while creating opportunities and strengthening inclusive governance.
It said the agenda has continued to inform its support for the candidate as political consultations intensify ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Members of the Assembly expressed confidence in Chukwuma’s capacity to pursue what they described as a new direction for Enugu State, with emphasis on development, economic opportunities and improved living conditions.
Call For Unity
The Assembly also called on its members, supporters and other residents of Enugu State to remain united and committed to the pursuit of what it described as good governance.
The group said political engagement ahead of the 2027 election should remain focused on the interests of the people and the development of the state.
It further expressed its readiness to work with other stakeholders and supporters who share its stated objective of promoting its preferred candidate and governance agenda.
Support Ahead Of 2027
The reaffirmation comes as political activity continues to build ahead of the 2027 Enugu State governorship election, with political parties, candidates, support groups and community organisations engaging in consultations across the state.
The Adada People’s Assembly maintained that its endorsement of Ocho Obodoeze Chukwuma remains unchanged.
The group said it would continue to support the ADC candidate and his Refined Governance Agenda as preparations for the election progress.
Its latest declaration places the Assembly firmly behind Chukwuma while signalling its intention to mobilise members and engage other stakeholders around its preferred political direction for Enugu State ahead of 2027.
