(DDM) – A dramatic incident rocked Enugu Air on Monday after airline officials were captured on video forcefully removing a passenger from a commercial flight.

The footage, shared widely online, showed a chaotic struggle as officials dragged the male passenger from his seat while some voices in the background supported the action, shouting, “Yes, yes, go down.”

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the incident has triggered outrage among Nigerians, with many calling for accountability from the state-owned airline.

The video, first posted by social media user @ChuksEricE, has been viewed thousands of times, sparking concerns over passenger safety and aviation standards in Nigeria.

Eyewitnesses said the removal happened shortly before take-off, but the reason for the action remains unclear.

Enugu Air has yet to issue an official statement addressing the incident, while the passenger involved has also remained silent.

The development has been likened to previous controversies involving Nigerian airlines, including an altercation between Comfort Emmanson and flight attendants on an Ibom Air flight.

Similarly, Fuji music legend King Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, was recently involved in a reported dispute with ValueJet Airlines at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

These incidents have reignited public debate on the treatment of passengers by airline staff and the broader issue of customer service within the aviation industry.

Aviation analysts who spoke with DDM stressed the need for airlines to adopt global best practices in handling conflicts onboard flights.

They warned that repeated cases of passenger mistreatment could damage public confidence and lead to severe legal consequences.

Many Nigerians are demanding that Enugu Air explain the circumstances surrounding the ejection and outline measures to prevent future occurrences.

Civil rights advocates have also urged aviation regulators to investigate and sanction any acts of misconduct by airline personnel.

Observers note that the Nigerian aviation sector has faced intense scrutiny in recent years, with viral incidents highlighting gaps in service delivery and adherence to safety protocols.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has not commented on the latest controversy, though calls for oversight continue to mount.

For now, the public waits for clarity from Enugu Air amid growing pressure to restore confidence and ensure passengers’ rights are fully protected.
