NSUKKA, ENUGU STATE — A social media post by a Facebook user, identified as Cosmo Agbo, has alleged that market leaders in Nsukka were threatened against receiving opposition political parties seeking consultations in the area.

In the post, which has generated reactions online, the author claimed that chairmen of major markets, including the Timber Market, Building Materials Market and Industrial Site Market, were allegedly warned not to host opposition politicians.

Describing the situation as a threat to democratic principles, the post alleged that the development represented what it termed “the zenith of tyranny” and challenged interested persons to verify the claims with leaders of the affected markets.
