The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) appointed him according to them due to his previous outstanding performance as their spokesperson.

The letter from the CUPP charged Ugochinyere with reviving the voice of the opposition in parliament, highlighting his role in representing the coalition of opposition parties.

Ugochinyere expressed his honor at being chosen and emphasized the importance of opposition lawmakers in questioning government actions for the benefit of the people.
