A former Governor in Nigeria, Rochas Okorocha, has debunked rumors circulating on social media claiming he passed away at a London hospital.

In a video clip exclusively obtained by Diaspora Digital Media, Okorocha, looking fit and healthy, described the viral rumour as a mere “fabrication”, admitting that his phone lines have been inundated with barrage of phone calls and messages from persons seeking to verify the information.

Meanwhile, Okorocha’s media aide, Dr. Ebere Nzewuji, in a statement, confirmed that he is  alive and well, attending to duties at his Abuja office when the rumor emerged Wednesday evening.

“The general public should disregard the wicked lies spread by mischief makers,” Dr. Nzewuji stated.

“At the time the fake news emerged, Senator Okorocha was at his Unity House, Garki, Abuja office, going about his normal duties.”

Dr. Nzewuji further noted that Okorocha had recently attended the funeral ceremony of Elder Statesman Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu in Owerri, Imo State, and hosted Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and other House Representatives members at his Spibat Owerri Residence.

“His Excellency is hale and hearty; continuing his humanitarian works and attending to his numerous private business duties,” Dr. Nzewuji assured.

The false report sparked widespread concern among Okorocha’s supporters.
