In a significant move to tackle the escalating issue of drug abuse among youths, Former President Muhammadu Buhari will headline the first-ever Katsina Dialogue. The initiative, titled ‘Confronting the Drug Menace: Securing Katsina’s Future,’ is set to address this critical concern in the state.

Organized by the Katsina Consultative Forum, the event aims to emphasize the severity of the problem and serve as a rallying point for concerted efforts against it. Alhaji Aminu Danmusa, Chairman of the Forum, declared at a press conference that this event is more than a conference; it’s a call to action and a plea for unity in confronting shared challenges for a healthier future for Katsina’s youth.

Dr Usman Bugaje, a scholar with expertise in pharmaceuticals and political science, will lead the discussions, joined by a panel of five distinguished Katsina citizens. Among them are Dr Asma’u Abdulkadir, the Katsina State NDLEA Commandant, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Drugs and Narcotics.

Danmusa emphasized that the Katsina Dialogue is not a mere talk shop; it’s a catalyst for change, promising to pave the way for meaningful solutions, effective policies, and actionable plans. The commitment is to empower Katsina’s youth with the necessary tools to overcome the allure of drugs and build a brighter future for themselves and their state.
