Alexander-Arnold’s replacement: Frimpong’s agent arrives Liverpool

With Vice Captain Trent Alexander-Arnold on the verge of joining Real Madrid, Liverpool are already on the lookout for his replacement, with Jeremie Frimpong’s invited to Merseyside for talks.
Diaspora Digital Media gathered that the 22 year old Bayer Leverkusen right-back’s agent has arrived England and will hold talks with Liverpool executives on Thursday.
Personal terms are not expected to be an issue, according to reports.
Frimpong’s impressive performances for Leverkusen have attracted interest from top clubs in the Premier League and La Liga.
With a €40m release clause in his contract, Frimpong’s transfer to Liverpool could be facilitated smoothly.
Dutch Connection
Frimpong has represented Netherlands at junior levels.
Luring him to Merseyside won’t be a problem as Liverpool already have a huge Dutch presence.
Head coach Arne Slot, captain Virgil van Dijk, who is likely to extend his expiring contract, and dangerous wideman Cody Gakpo, are all Dutch.
The Frimpong career file
Frimpong joined Manchester City at the age of nine and progressed through the club’s youth ranks.
He made regular appearances in Premier League 2 and the UEFA Youth League.
In 2019, Frimpong signed a four-year deal with Celtic.
He made his professional debut against Partick Thistle in the Scottish League Cup quarter-finals and won the man of the match award.
Frimpong quickly became a fan favorite with his electrifying pace, tenacity, and attacking prowess from the right-back position.
In 2021, Frimpong signed for German side Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee, on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
He extended his contract until 2028, with a release clause of £35 million.
Frimpong was a key figure in helping Leverkusen win their first Bundesliga title in 2024.
Frimpong has represented the Netherlands at under-19 and under-20 youth international levels.
He made his senior international debut in 2023 and scored his first senior international goal in a pre-tournament friendly against Canada in 2024.
Conor Bradley
Liverpool currently have a fast-rising rightback in the person of Conor Bradley.
It remains to be seen how Frimpong’s potential transfer will impact Bradley.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Reds have full trust in Bradley’s abilities and believe he can fill the void left by Alexander-Arnold’s departure.
Romano revealed on the Here We Go Podcast that Liverpool is extremely happy with Bradley’s progress and considers him a huge talent.
The club is ready to trust Bradley as their starting right-back in the future.
The journalist shared, “In terms of right-back, what I’m hearing is that they are very happy with Conor Bradley. They believe that Conor Bradley can be part of this future Liverpool squad. They believe he’s a huge talent.”
Romano also recalled a moment from a Liverpool-Real Madrid game at Anfield, where Bradley made a impressive tackle, earning a positive reaction from the crowd.
This moment, according to Romano, shows that Liverpool is ready to trust Bradley as a key player.
