The Gombe State Police Command said it has arrested two teenagers over alleged criminal conspiracy and kidnapping of two travellers along the Gombe-Dukku Road.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Oqua Etim, disclosed this while parading the suspects alongside six others before newsmen at the weekend in Gombe.
He said the suspects – Mamman Umar, 20, of old Liji area of Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area, and Abubakar Umar, 18, of Bojude village in Kwami LGA of the state, were arrested by the command’s State Intelligence Bureau (SIB).
CP Etim said the police had on November 11, 2022 received a complaint that two persons; Labaran Sabo, 50, of Lafiya Lamurde LGA of Adamawa State and Bala Yunana, 33, of Biu LGA of Borno State were kidnapped on November 6 at about 11pm while on transit at Bojude village along the Gombe-Dukku Road.
