STATEMENT FROM THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF RIVERS STATE

My dear Rivers people,

I address you today with a deep sense of responsibility as we navigate this challenging political period.

Since assuming office, I have remained committed to my oath and focused on serving you. Our administration prioritizes security and development across Rivers State.

Despite political obstacles, we have upheld the rule of law and always put your interests first. When President Tinubu intervened for peace, we immediately honored the agreement, including reinstating voluntarily resigned commissioners. After receiving the Supreme Court’s judgment, we fully complied to restore stability.

These actions were never for personal gain but to promote unity and progress. Unfortunately, the Rivers State House of Assembly has repeatedly obstructed peace efforts, making reconciliation difficult.

Regardless, our focus remains clear—ensuring security, improving lives, and driving development. Political disagreements will not stop governance. Salaries are paid, major projects continue, and Rivers State remains peaceful.

I urge everyone to uphold peace and respect the law. We will engage all relevant institutions to protect democracy and ensure Rivers State thrives.

Rivers people are strong and resilient. Together, we will overcome challenges with wisdom, patience, and faith in democracy.

God bless Rivers State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS
