Hakeem Baba-Ahmed steps down as Tinubu’s political adviser

Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Tinubu, has officially resigned from his position.

According to a report by Daily Trust, the former spokesman for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), submitted his resignation around two weeks ago.

Presidency sources disclosed that Dr. Baba-Ahmed cited personal reasons for his decision but did not elaborate further.

Appointed in September 2023, Baba-Ahmed served in the Office of Vice President Kashim Shettima.

During his tenure, he played a key role in representing the presidency at numerous public engagements.

One of his recent appearances was at a national conference titled “Strengthening Nigeria’s Democracy: Pathway to Good Governance and Political Integrity”, held in Abuja from January 28 to 29, 2025.
