Imo: 100 days,  Isiala Mbano LGA chair, Okoroike gives scorecard

In Imo state, it’s about 100 days the local council was inaugurated and the executive chairman of Isiala Mbano LGA, Hon Evang. CHIKA Okoroike has deliberately enumerated his performances so far.

Speaking to members of the Press in his office at Umuelemai , the Isiala Mbano LGA headquarters on Tuesday, 28th January, 2025, Okoroike clearly and categorically gave his scorecard pointing the grace of God and fatherly disposition of the governor, Hope Uzodinma.

Evang. Okoroike being the longest serving local government chairman in the administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma said he would not fail his people.

He noted that he has started reconstructing the abandoned office complex by the past administrations and that it is at the roofing stage and would soon be completed.

The chairman hinted that he has also started constructing an erosion menace site which is 70% completed as it will help in managing the erosion challenges facing the people.

The workaholic chairman stated that they have many ongoing projects which will be completed and commissioned in the shortest possible time.He enumerated the projects below.

” The rehabilitation of transformers, comprehensive grading of rural roads which is 98% achieved, conversion of existing boreholes to Solar power, rural water availability projects,RUWA, Food availability projects where 10,000 suckers of plantains and cassava seedlings have been released to farmers, among others”, he stated.

 

Mazi Okoroike further  emphasized that he is organizing cassava processing programme where the processing centre will be sighted in Isiala Mbano to produce food, starch and as well as create employment opportunities for the people living within the rural communities.

” We are barely three months in office and we have robust programmes that will impact the people.

“There are many programmes that we cannot mention here because of its sensitive nature especially security but by the grace of God we have zero crime within three months of our operation.

 

“We are closing in on some criminals especially motor cycle snatchers and particularly on a certain notorious syndicate, so we have plans to introduce a surveillance team through our dark room intelligence.

 

“We have an ingenuity to deliver optimally to the expectations of our people.

“However, we specially thanked Governor Hope Uzodinma who gave us the platform to operate with and we shall do well for our people and they are happy already.

 

“If you see the traffic we witnessed today, you will know that we are working and by the special grace of God, we will not fail the people “, the chairman stated.

 

The Isiala Mbano LGA boss added that in their relief program, they are building a second house  for the needy in partnership with the wife of the governor, Barr Chioma Uzodinma and she will soon commission a second house that they are erecting for the poorest of the poor.

“We are happy when the poor is happy and that is the source of our strength.

“We want to do a budget that is robust with capital expenditure and people oriented because we want to revitalize the economy through infrastructure”, Okoroike stated.

DDM NEWS gathered that the people of Isiala Mbano are happy with the leadership of Hon. Evang. Chika Okoroike through the large crowd of the people who came to interface with him and his councillors in the council headquarters.
