The Traditional Defence Minister of Umuguma in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, Mr .Ogbonna Ashaba Anthony, has promised to flush out all the criminals that are operating in any part of Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state, if provided with the necessary tools to work with by the state government.

He made the promise to our Correspondent on Saturday via an interaction at Umuguma primary school pitch, during the reception of Hon. Victor Osuigwe, the Chairman of Owerri West Local Government Area.

He disclosed that his determination with his team to comb out all the criminals rampaging any part of Owerri West LGA must be fully achieved if all the requested necessary support would be adequately provided.

He stressed that not much has been done in that regard.

Ashaba equally opined that he has what it takes to stop all forms of insecurity in Owerri West and beyond, because of the availability of some of his hidden and unapplied security strategies.

” I know exactly what to do to stop insecurity “. he noted.

Ashaba added that with the provision of the needed logistics by the government for his vigilante group, the state should not wait long to see the expected result, noting that his Owerri West Local Government Area should be commended for its little support in the area of security maintenance.

According to Ashaba, ” anaghi agba aka ahu nwata eze” meaning you don’t see a new born baby with empty hand.

When asked if he had drawn the attention of the government to his security needs, Ashaba said yes but stressed that he was asked to wait a while with a promise of reaching him later.

Ashaba said: ” I have met some security authorities in the state over same demand, but I was asked to hang on”

Speaking further, Ashaba posited that his team members are itching to commence the activity with or without the required mobilization by the authority.

He used the same avenue to declare yahoo-yahoo business, cultism and drug peddling as most problematic issues in today’s Nigeria, appealing to the government to put these activities to a stop by dealing with the arrested culprits accordingly.

He expressed delight over a cordial relationship existing between him as a leader and all the vigilante members in Owerri West, pointing out that such should not deter him from carrying out any disciplinary measure against any erring member.

Concluding, Ashaba also appealed to the state government to address the problem of bad roads and light in Umuguma which would enable them to have smooth chase of criminals out of Umuguma Community.

Recall that Insecurity has ravaged and still ravaging residents of Owerri West local government area especially Umuguma the LGA headquarters.

People no longer sleep with their eyes fully closed because of insecurity in and around the environment within the local government.
