There has been an attempt on the life of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state by persons suspected to be assassins, elombah.com has gathered on Saturday.
The attempt, according to some sources in government involved shooting which the governor’s security detail repelled.
The source further averred that the assailants laid ambush for the convoy of the governor around the Tyo Mu area, along Makurdi/Gboko road as at the time of compiling this brief was still hazy.
However, top government sources in Makurdi told the online paper that the attack on the governor’s convoy was repelled by security men attached to the governor’s convoy.
It was also gathered that the state government may issue a statement on the failed attempt on the governor’s life before the end of the day.
