Iran Rules Out Resuming Nuclear Talks With United States

Iran has confirmed that it has no plans to resume nuclear negotiations with the United States at this time.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made the declaration in a televised interview on Thursday.

Araghchi stated clearly that there is no agreement, arrangement, or promise regarding the resumption of talks.

He emphasized that no discussions have occurred behind the scenes about restarting the nuclear dialogue.

Speaking to Iran’s state-owned IRINN news channel, Araghchi dismissed recent rumors of possible diplomatic re-engagement.

He cited past experiences with the U.S. as a major reason for Tehran’s hesitation.

According to Araghchi, the U.S. betrayed the negotiations during the previous rounds, undermining trust between the two nations.

That betrayal, he said, has deeply shaped Iran’s future stance on nuclear diplomacy.

Araghchi stressed that any future decision on talks would be made solely in the interest of the Iranian people.

He insisted that emotions or short-term political pressures would not drive Tehran’s decision-making.

The foreign minister explained that Iran continues to assess its long-term national interests independently.

He also clarified that any internal evaluations are entirely separate from formal negotiations.

Araghchi rejected claims that Iran is currently engaged in back-channel diplomacy with Washington.

He said there is no covert deal or unofficial communication with the U.S. at this stage.

Observers believe this statement signals Tehran’s desire to maintain a firm position amid rising regional tensions.

This development follows weeks of speculation about whether U.S.-Iran nuclear diplomacy might resume after recent escalations.

Some analysts had anticipated a potential breakthrough after the recent Israel-Iran ceasefire agreement.

However, Araghchi’s comments indicate that Iran remains skeptical of American intentions.

Diplomatic relations between Washington and Tehran have been tense since the U.S. pulled out of the 2015 nuclear deal.

That deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), had been a cornerstone of regional nuclear policy.

Since the U.S. withdrawal, both sides have made several attempts to restart dialogue, with limited success.

Iran has since expanded parts of its nuclear program, drawing global concern and increasing Western sanctions.

Western allies have urged Iran to return to the negotiating table, but Tehran insists on guarantees against future betrayals.

With Araghchi’s latest statement, hopes for immediate diplomatic progress appear to have dimmed.

For now, Iran’s leadership seems focused on national review and strategic recalibration rather than direct engagement.

DDM will continue monitoring the situation and provide updates on any future diplomatic shifts.
