A Brazilian woman convicted of stalking BTS star Jungkook may be deported from South Korea following a court ruling over her persistent harassment of the global music icon.
According to reports, a Seoul district court sentenced the woman to one year in prison, suspended for two years, after finding her guilty of repeatedly visiting the singer’s residence. In one alarming incident, she reportedly rang Jungkook’s doorbell 133 times.
Court records revealed that the woman began showing up at the property in December, allegedly driven by what she described as “love” for the K-pop star. Her actions included leaving letters and photos, loitering around the residence, and even attempting to gain access by following a delivery worker into the building.
Despite multiple warnings, police-imposed restrictions, and an emergency order prohibiting her from coming within 100 metres of the property, she allegedly continued her behavior returning approximately 22 times before being arrested and prosecuted.
Authorities are now considering deportation proceedings, although the final decision may depend on whether she chooses to appeal the court’s verdict.
The case has sparked renewed conversations around celebrity safety and the dangers of obsessive fan behavior, especially in the age of global fandoms.
