President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of three Nigerians as directors-general of various agencies and one as special adviser on public communications and media.

This was disclosed by special adviser on information and strategy to the president, Mr. Bayo Onanuga on November 14, 2024, in a statement release at the State House.

Some experts perceive this new appointment as president Bola Tinubu’s approach towards strengthening his administration.

The new appointees are: Mr. Olawale Olopade (Director-General, National Sports Commission),  Dr. Abisoye Fagade (Director-General, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism), Dr. Adebowale Adedokun (Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement), and Daniel Bwala (Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications (State House)).

According to the statement released, president Tinubu enjoins the newly appointees to discharge their duties with patriotism, dedication, and excellence.

 

Olawale Olopade

Mr. Olawale Olopade is a seasoned sports administrator, experienced in sports administration, marketing, and development.

Olopade served as the Commissioner of Youth and Sports in Ogun State.

He was also the chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.

His expertise and leadership skills will likely focus on promoting excellence in Nigerian sports, developing sports infrastructure, and supporting Nigerian athletes competing internationally.

Olopade, the new Director-General of the National Sports Commission, is a sports administrator with many years of experience in the sector.

 

Dr. Abisoye Fagade

Dr. Abisoye Fagade is a distinguished Nigerian marketing communication professional, entrepreneur, and thought leader.

Dr. Fagade was born on March 10, 1974, in Ibadan, Nigeria.

He holds a degree in demography and social statistics from Obafemi Awolowo University.

Dr. Fagade’s achievements have earned him recognition within Nigeria’s marketing communications industry.

His strategic partnerships, notably with Ayeni Adekunle, have enhanced marketing communications in Nigeria.

With his impressive background and achievements, Dr. Abisoye Fagade is poised to make a significant impact in his new appointment as Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism.

Dr. Adebowale Adedokun

Dr. Adebowale Adedokun is a renowned Nigerian expert in public procurement, policy development, and strategic management.

Dr. Adedokun served as Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning at the BPP.

Adedokun was the Deputy Director of Procurement at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, and Lecturer in Public Administration at the University of Abuja.

His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Abuja, a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Ibadan, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Ilorin.

Dr. Adedokun’s appointment is part of President Tinubu’s efforts to strengthen key national agencies.

Adedokun, the new helmsman of the Bureau of Public Procurement, was the director of Research/Training and Strategic Planning at the bureau before his appointment.

 

Daniel Bwala

Daniel Bwala is a Nigerian lawyer, public affairs analyst, and strategic communicator.

Bwala’s professional background spans law, politics, and media.

He began his career as a lawyer, later transitioning into politics and public affairs.

He has worked as a spokesperson for various political figures and organizations, including the Atiku Campaign.

He has appeared on national television and radio programs as a political analyst.

Notably, Bwala crossed party lines, returning to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after initially defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The special adviser on public communications and media, Mr. Daniel Bwala is a lawyer and notable public affairs analyst.
