KANO, KANO STATE – The Kano State Government has donated 15 cows and various food items to inmates in correctional centres across the state as part of activities marking the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The donation was made as part of efforts to extend support and promote welfare among inmates during the festive period, ensuring they also participate in the celebration despite being in custodial facilities.
State officials explained that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to humanitarian support, rehabilitation efforts, and the well-being of individuals within correctional institutions.
Support During Festive Season
The distribution included cows and essential food supplies intended to provide meals for inmates during the Eid celebration.
Officials said the gesture was designed to foster inclusion and remind inmates that they remain part of society despite their circumstances.
The government noted that extending support to correctional centres during festive periods contributes to improving morale and strengthening rehabilitation programmes.
