Kano Gov Sets Up Panel to Probe St. Louis College Student’s Death

KANO, Nigeria — Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has established a high-powered panel to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a boarding student at St. Louis College in the state, following widespread public concern over the incident.

The governor’s decision came shortly after the tragic death of the student, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed. The panel has been tasked with conducting a thorough investigation into the incident to uncover the truth and prevent future occurrences.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the panel is composed of security agencies, medical experts, and officials from the state’s Ministry of Education and is mandated to examine all aspects surrounding the student’s death and submit its findings and recommendations to the government. The panel is expected to report back to the governor within two weeks.
