The rebuttal comes after it was reported in some section of the media that the party has appointed Odigbo as the spokesman of Obi/Datti presidential ticket.

Labour Party in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Comrade Arabambi Oluwafemi Abayomi refuted the report, adding that all appointment by the party are made through the office of the National chairman and announcement made by the national publicity secretary under the directive of the national chairman.

The statement reads, “Our attention has been drawn to the news intercepted through multiple news medium that one Mr Charles Okigbo as been appointed the spokesman of labour party by prof Pat Utomi.

“It’s not undisputed that labor party has not made such appointment since Prof Pat Utomi who the leader of NCF cannot usurp the function of the national Chairman.

“For the records, Prof Pat Utomi who is the leader of NCF, a stronge affiliate of the labor party, while in a zoom meeting introduced Charles Okigbo as the media head of the “big tent”, an acronym for the NCF and no mention of labor party was made on that platform.

“All appointment by Labour Party are made through the office of the National chairman and announcement made by the national publicity secretary under the directive of the national chairman.

“For emphasis and clarity;

“Article 14 sub section 1 (A) of the Labour Party constitution states as fellows;

““The national chairman shall give leadership to the party and shall preside over all the meetings of the national executive council and the national working committee of the party.
