The Labour Party (LP) in Anambra State continues to prove its internal strength and unity as Hon. Jude Ifeanyi Umennajiego, Member representing Onitsha South 2 in the State House of Assembly, has openly pledged his full and unwavering support for the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Dr. George Moghalu (Ohamadike).
This public endorsement comes as a resounding message of solidarity, especially in light of earlier speculations linking Hon. Umennajiego to a factional stance.
By standing firmly behind Dr. Moghalu, Umennajiego laid all doubts to rest and reaffirmed the party’s united front ahead of 2025 elections.
Addressing party stakeholders in Onitsha, Hon. Umennajiego praised Dr. Moghalu’s proven capacity and vision for Anambra.
“Dr. George Moghalu is the leadership answer our people have long awaited.
“He brings structure, hope, and integrity to this race. I have no divided loyalty—my support is total and unshakable,” he declared.

Responding to the endorsement, Chief Dr. George Moghalu expressed deep gratitude.
“This journey is not about me—it is about our shared resolve to restore dignity, development, and justice to our beloved state,” he said.
Party faithfuls said that Labour Party is moving forward stronger, united by a shared mission.
The also said that theparty is energized by growing support from key leaders like Hon. Umennajiego.
“With each day, the vision of a new Anambra under Ohamadike becomes more achievable,” a party stalwart told Diaspora Digital Media (DDM).

In the meantime, the Anambra Labour Party governorship candidate has paid a strategic visit to the residence of the leader of the party, Mr. Peter Obi over the weekend.
DDM learnt that the move is part of the final touches being made ahead of the official campaign flag-off.
The closed-door meeting, Moghalu’s camp said, signifies unity and alignment within the party as the 2025 governorship race intensifies.
