English giants Liverpool and Manchester City are closely monitoring Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal’s contract situation.

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM), Yamal, only 16 years old, has quickly become one of football’s most exciting young talents this season.

He currently plays a key role in Barcelona’s squad, showing maturity and skill far beyond his age.

However, his future at the club is now uncertain due to Barcelona’s ongoing financial problems.

Barcelona have been facing major financial struggles since the COVID-19 pandemic, causing massive debts and wage bill issues.

These issues previously forced them to release Lionel Messi in 2021, shocking the football world.

Now, the same crisis may threaten their ability to keep hold of Yamal in the long term.

Barcelona wants to offer Yamal a new contract running until 2030 with a significant salary increase.

But doubts remain over whether they can afford such a long-term, high-paying deal under La Liga rules.

Yamal’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is being very cautious in contract talks with the Catalan club.

He has experienced previous failed negotiations at Barcelona involving players like Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix.

Because of this, Mendes is hesitant to proceed without financial guarantees from the club.

Meanwhile, Liverpool and Manchester City are waiting patiently, ready to strike if Yamal becomes available.

Both clubs are known for nurturing young talent and could offer Yamal stability and world-class development.

Barcelona is determined to keep the teenager but may be forced to sell if financial pressures increase.

The summer transfer window is approaching, adding urgency to resolve the contract situation.

Yamal has expressed his desire to stay at Barcelona and continue his career at the club.

Still, without financial clarity, his long-term future remains open to change.

Liverpool and Manchester City will continue to monitor the unfolding situation very closely.

The football world now watches as one of its brightest young stars faces an uncertain future.
